Over the years we’ve all admired the way Carles Puyol commands his defence and has established himself as one of the world’s best defenders both Internationally for Spain & domestically for Barcelona. At the age of 34 is far from being one of the quickest on the pitch. As we see here his cat like reflexes clearly aren’t as sharp as what they once were. Barcelona and Argentina forward, Lionel Messi, has created history by winning the Ballon d’Or, for a fourth consecutive time.
He won the award ahead of Barcelona team-mate,Andres Iniesta and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Argentine attacker becomes the first player in history, to win the Ballon d’Or four times in succession. He previously shared the record of three consecutive victories with Michel Platini, while Dutch duo Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten also won the prize three times.
It was no great surprise, as the 25-year-old enjoyed a sensational 2012, where he scored 91 goals for club and country.
